Privacy Policy for Refine

Refine is a Chrome extension that rewrites AI prompts using Google Gemini AI.

1. DATA WE COLLECT
We collect the following personal data:
- Google account email address (via Google OAuth sign-in)
- Google user ID (via Google OAuth sign-in)
- Daily refine usage count

We do NOT store:
- Prompt content (processed in real time, never stored on our servers)
- Browsing history
- Any other personal information

Note: Prompt text is temporarily transmitted to our server for AI processing 
but is never logged or stored.

2. HOW WE COLLECT DATA
Data is collected when you sign in with Google OAuth within the extension.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
- Email and user ID are used solely to identify your account and manage your daily usage quota
- Usage count is used to enforce free tier limits (3/day) and Pro tier limits (25/day)
- Prompts are sent to Google Gemini API for processing in real time and are never stored

4. DATA STORAGE
- Your email and user ID are stored in Cloudflare KV (key-value storage)
- Daily usage counts reset every 24 hours at midnight IST
- No prompt content is stored at any point
- Data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure in secure data centers

5. DATA SHARING
We share data with the following third parties:
- Google Gemini API: prompts are sent for processing (subject to Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy)
- Razorpay: payment processing for Pro subscriptions (subject to Razorpay's privacy policy at https://razorpay.com/privacy/)
- Cloudflare: infrastructure and data storage (subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/)
We do not sell your data to any third parties.

6. DATA RETENTION
- Account data (email, user ID) is retained while you have an active account
- Daily usage counts are reset every 24 hours and not stored long term
- No prompt data is retained at any point
- You may request deletion at any time

7. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account data
- Withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the extension

8. SECURITY
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission and secure storage on Cloudflare infrastructure.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
This extension is not intended for users under 13 years of age.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy and will reflect changes with a new Last updated date.
